Wow, I have to see this is pretty out there and the feel and vibe it has is quite similar to stuff I have been working on, especially the patterns on the armor (I've posted more cammo experimental stuff on some mecha but have ornate patterns in mind as well, just not bushido Japanese style as this apparently is), very cool indeed. Don't know when you'll return to Deviant but this one's a fav and I tip my hat to your fine imagination here
The design on this is also reminds me of that of an insect. Like the outside armor like the shell coverings on a beetle. Still impresses me the amount of background put into creating these mechs. Love it!
heh,.. well then damn!!
Such a wicked wicked sketch!!
I thought you weere into the battle mechs too - it looks like it!
Even tighter is the concepts behind your art. Mos' def. form & function going on here.
My question is, can it fire it's preimary weapon while fully mobile. (w/ reference to maintaining accuracy of course...)
I'm just trying to think what I would do if I saw this forwarding on me.
i use those 'cool lookin' pipes juttin' out for a few
technical reasons: on this guy the ones pokin out
of limbs are pumps and repair stations for the EAP
nano musculature. EAP [electro active polymer]
muscle units are tiny, microscopic, semi-sentient
cellular units which, when pumped into a muscle
outer sac, link to form chains. these chains link
their two dynamic ends to connection ports in the
muscle sac and you got instant extra muscle mass.
just pass a current through the strands and you got
flexion. this allows muscle mass to be transfered
around the mech to where ever needed.
if you see one of mechs with the old big long pipes
pokin out of its back: my justification is that these
are dense matter generators. they work in tandem
with gyro's to keep the mech or whatever upright,
or to generally help with balance, ie: when firing a
big gun etc... they generate [as in particle generator]
super heavy particles which are kept around long
enough to be usefull by miniaturised systems of con-
tainment similar to a tokamak fusion generator.
the bigger pipes on the mech above are nano defence
ports. these basically function as anti missile and nano
defence system. they eject a shell which contains nano
tech which intercepts the incoming threat and neutralises
i love how you represent 3D stuff. like how the highlights show an edge to something. how do you do this? do you colour less to show highlights, or do you go over with white pencil? or maybe rub out or scratch away to reveal paper underneath?
